DOUGLAS M. BRYCE...is the Chief Consultant for, and founder of, the plastic engineering consultant firm of Texas Plastic Technologies, and the international knowledge and data company of IPLAS, both with headquarters located in the Central Texas hill country community of Georgetown.

Mr. Bryce began his career in the plastics industry in 1960 and has worked in increasingly responsible positions for companies such as Bourns Electronics, A.O. Smith, Shakespeare, Exxon, and IBM, and has owned three molding shops during his career.

Maintaining a level of expertise that is unmatched in the industry, Mr. Bryce has a thorough knowledge of materials, molds, and processing that has earned him a variety of accolades, awards and patents.

Being a frequent contributing author to mainstream plastic journals, Mr. Bryce is also the author of a complete troubleshooting handbook titled "Troubleshooting: A Guide For Injection Molders" which is destined to become the leading troubleshooting handbook of the injection molding industry, and an SPE booklet titled "Thermoplastic Troubleshooting For Injection Molders"

He is also the author of a four-volume set of technical books titled “Plastic Injection Molding” published by the SME, and is the Editor of “The Plastics Times” newsletter, published by the Publications Division of Texas Plastic Technologies. His IPLAS division provides interactive training CD's in a variety of titles. He has also authored a 3-tape technical video, and interactive CD ROM version, titled “Troubleshooting Injection Molding Problems”. He is also editor of the popular "Plastic Blog".

Mr. Bryce is an active member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and resides with his wife (his 4 grown children live near by) in the Hill Country of Central Texas.
